I’m not having my surgery for a few months. But I tried it out to see how it worked and it sure does get your leg and knee cold. As advertised it didn’t leak and I like the idea that someone else had shared of having water bottles, frozen for slower, defrosting time so far it’s great.

This is amazing for after knee replacement surgery. It holds a lot of ice, therefore not having to depend on someone to fill it so often. It comes with 3 different size bands which is very helpful. The ice water moves through it as soon as you turn it on.
Barb Babcock –
It worked well. It helped to have a remote to turn it on and off with a timer
John S –
Easy to use and effective at delivering cold therapy around the knee. I wish the bag holding the water and ice was more substantial. We have used it for three weeks, and so far it hasn’t leaked.

A must have for after knee surgery. Works well and as described

First, some corrections:
Under About this item, it says:
“【3-Piece Full-Body Pain Relief Set】Comes with 3 versatile gel packs that contour to your body…”
This set only comes with 2 gel packs, NOT 3. It is a 3 piece set, just 2 gel packs and one sleeve as shown in the first picture.
“【Adjustable & Comfortable Fit】Each pack includes an adjustable elastic strap for a snug, hands-free fit. “
This too is also incorrect, there is only 1 sleeve in total, not 1 per gel pack. It probably means each “package” not “pack”.
The fifth image down, which shows the sleeve’s dimensions, it says 38.7″. This refers to the total length of the sleeve with the elastic band to secure it. However, this is incorrect. The total length of the sleeve plus elastic band is 33 3/4″. Also, if you account for the velcro on the elastic part and the fact that the velcro needs to attach to the sleeve to be functional, the total useful length is only 31″. This means that if you want to wrap your lower back, your belly diameter must be 31″ or less to fit.
On to the actual review:
The gel packs are well made. They have a wide outer diameter of plastic to prevent it from leaking on the sides, which happens with other gel packs which are literally sealed right at the edge and terminate at the edge. This should help with preventing them from leaking. Only time will tell if they’ll leak elsewhere. The plastic itself feels thick too, not super thick, but thicker than other gel packs I’ve used which are clear and resemble a ziplock plastic bag which looks like it’s about to puncture and form a leak on the surface.
For heating, I would recommend not just following the instructions on the gel pad and test to see how long it takes to heat up your gel pad in your microwave to your desired heat level. The gel pack says to heat it for 60 seconds when at room temperature, but after 32 seconds I stopped it and checked the gel pack and it was plenty hot so I didn’t need to heat it any further.
When frozen, the gel packs are still pliable and aren’t stiff like a wooden board so they work well to contour to your body when used. I sometimes burn my fingers or hand with hot water so these work well to cool off that part and contour to fit. I normally use an ice pack, but since they’re hard plastic, they don’t contour well.
The sleeve itself is composed of two parts, a thin cloth to hold the gel pack inside of it. It is secured with a velcro piece to keep it inside. The other part is the elastic band which is secured to the sleeve with a large piece of velcro (1 3/4″ x 3″). The elastic band can stretch, but it’s very tight, so it’s not that stretchy or loose. It gives you some room to make sure it’s secure, but has some give. The thickness of the sleeve is just enough to take the bite off a hot compress so that it’s not too hot, but comfortable and still provides enough heat. The reason why I use this instead of a heating pad is that the heating pad would heat up my entire back, whereas this can just heat up that muscle on my back and not make my entire back hot.
The sleeve only holds the gel pack along the elastic band, so good for anything longitudinally. For something vertical, like an erector back muscle which goes up and down, or along the length of your arm or leg, you’ll need to use something else to secure it as it can only go across your arm or leg, not along your arm or leg, as pictured. One of those elastic bandage wraps will work well for this purpose. I had to use it for my back muscle, and what I ended up doing was placing the gel pack in the sleeve and placing the sleeve along my back and then leaning back against a chair to hold it in place and it worked well and it didn’t leak, even with my back pressed against it.
Overall, I’m pleased with the product. It would’ve been better if it also came with a different sleeve which would allow you to place it vertically and came with a longer elastic strap so that it would work on your back for those of us who have a belly which is wider than 31″ diameter.

The ice machine works good so far reason it didn’t get 5 Stars was because the weight of the hoses causes the side walls to collapse because there not sturdy all it is plastic and with the weight of the hoses it causes the side wall to drop about 3 to 4 inches on the side with the hoses

Works great! It’s a bit awkward to put on at first, but after a couple of times putting it on, it’s actually pretty east. it’s also a lot colder than expected and very quiet. Well worth the money.

This product came with no instructions and just be aware that the hoses come out of the top so you cannot fully zip the unit closed. Returned the unit. Also when I tried the chat they sent me directions for an ice machine maker!!

This reusable 3-piece hot & cold gel pack set is versatile, leakproof, and stays flexible when frozen. The adjustable straps make it easy to use on knees, shoulders, and joints for pain relief, swelling, and injury recovery. Great quality and highly recommended.
Shuja –
I like that they give you a pouch with the ice packs so once it is frozen you can put the cold pack in the pouch and wrap it around the part where you want to place it. The pouch has this wrapping strip which comfortably wraps around your body.
This way you don’t have to hold hot/cold pack in your hands while you put it on the affected area.
The quality of the product is good too.

These hot / ice pack are a big help to my back pain , I wanted something which could work both ways whenever I needed hot and cold . They really help in absorbing the pain . The quality is good and worth the money. Comes as a pack of 3 for the price

Nice soft material, easy to use as straps, ensures it won’t slip. Within 45 seconds, it is ready to use. A good option if you are looking for immediate relief after an injury.
