   this is just a blue ice/gel pack – use it how you’d expect – this shape makes it nice for round things like knees, elbows and heads – the rest is just ‘advertising wording’

   I wouldn’t freeze it for head use – but refrigerated is nice – for one, when frozen it’ll be hard and the whole point of this shape (flower like) is more for rounded body parts than looking like a flower – and cooling isn’t freezing – you could get a headache if too cold I’d imagine

   I can say that ‘neck cooling things’ definitely help to cool your blood and as your scalp has lots of blood vessels so too could these help – of course I got these mid-october when the temps swung from hot to windy/cold recently – so not much testing…but come on – this will be like similar things you’ve used (bag of peas anyone?)

   while normally I’d be more upset about the marketing wording – let’s be realistic – how really can you differentiate yourselves much in the market of cooling gel – so I get it – it’s a good product and why I kept 5 stars – I always evaluate a lot of things from the angle of: How hard would this be for ME to create myself. A lot of what we buy as ‘consumers’ is absolutely benefitted from factories that can produce stuff in bulk

   I like the shape…wish they were bigger (thicker) to increase the cooling capacity – of course the wisest is to buy 5-6 of these (or as many as you need to always have a ‘fully cold’ one in the fridge ready to swap out) – of course you’ll want some thermal isolation – because you’ll be cooling the world if you don’t…a hat or a towel would help keep room air/heat from taking away the cooling – you want your body heat being removed, not room heat

   even straight out of the freezer these are usable – with the caveat that you’ll ‘feel the discomfort’ of something from the freezer, just like ice (well more like peas because those shape better than ice cubes…always lumpy and not very ‘surface mating’) – definitely feels cold at 80f in my dining room 🙂

   all in all I’m happy with these – and cannot wait for 5 months to be able to really use them (when it’s hot and things like these are welcomed relief)
