I’ve been picking up books to help my older clientele, whether with exercises for balance and stability, wellness and natural cures, and more. Osteoporosis afflicts too many women and can lead to big problems (broken hips in older age as an example). I wanted to delve into the subject and I’m glad I picked up this book.
The author lays out Bone Health right up front and gives us a good understanding of the subject, and how aging can impact bones, the role of genetics, etc.
The author offers various lines of defense against the disease, from weight-bearing exercises, preventative strategies, natural remedies, and diet recommendations.
If one IS diagnosed with the disease, the author offers way to navigate it, various pharmaceuticals that may help (while listing the risks), physical therapy and natural wellness.
The final chapter is very helpful with a blueprint for sustained health… It includes weight assessments, medical records, scheduling for checkups, balance testing, lifestyle review, etc. to keep you on track!

THis is a great book for those wanting to know how to address bone health. We dont think about it ever in life until it hits you suddenly. The author discusses all the actionable tips on steps to implement in order to fortify your bone health like the role of calcium, vitamin d along with medicine.

You can learn a little bit from here and there.
But the book go over every point really quickly, without depth.
So why not, but that will not change your life at all.

I found this book very thorough and detailed. I think there is a lack of awareness amongst women as to how menopause impacts on bones and certainly of what we can do to counteract the natural processes and stay as healthy as possible as long as possible, therefore this book fills an important gap.

This book has a lot of really useful information. Having just crossed over 40 myself, the task lists at the end are a good reminder for me of things to do and things to look for. I especially enjoyed the information about what is and is not important to worry about. There are some minor grammatical and editing issues in the book, but otherwise it’s a very good thing to read and review if you’re on the wrong side of 40

This book not only shows how to avoid osteoporosis but it also gives lots of information on how to deal with it if and when you do get it. Changing our lifestyle can sometimes be the answer. I will certainly be cutting my alcohol intake and looking for ways to declutter my bedroom in order to enhance my sleep patterns.
